Where Mindfulness Meets Creativity
My creative inspirations are seasonal experiences and mindful explorations. I enjoy using nature and the changing color palettes of each season to inform my artwork, classes, and workshops.
Mindful awareness is the focus of my artwork, my life, and the art experientials (classes, workshops) I offer. I have found combining creativity and a mindful practice greatly enhanced my life by increasing calm and enriching all of my experiences. That’s the main reason I offer opportunities for others to learn more about the wonder and delight of combining these two practices (mindfulness and creating). I hope you will join me for an art experiential soon!
My artwork focuses on collage, mixed media, and abstract acrylic painting. The expressive process of art-making keeps me engaged and challenged. Here is a collage in process using a combination of papers, some hand-designed and printed. Then a page from my sketchbook, a place that allows for exploration and play. And a quote that reminds me of the importance of staying in the present moment.
I’m inspired by gardens, my own and those found in my neighborhood or from my travels. During nature hikes in the local parks and on the trails of northeast Ohio I gather photos that serve as a starting point for my work.
Below you will find my latest seasonal inspirations. I gather photos, color palettes, and inspiration and being boards (created with present moment awareness) that are collections of images that are used as as a starting point for my work. Gathering these inspirations is part of my creative process. Learn how to create your own Being Board here.
Along with creating my own art, I offer classes that give others the opportunity to explore their own creative processes. These explorations focus on present moment awareness and give insight and greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us. See the upcoming in-person and on-line workshop schedule here.
